CHCWM welcomed three new physicians this summer. See their photos and bios below to learn more.
Dr. Eric Santos, MD
After earning his medical degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines, Dr. Santos completed his Residency at the State University of New York in Stoney Brook and his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He previously held the position of Chief Resident at the University of Connecticut. He holds memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology as well as American Society of Hematology. Dr. Santos holds interests in Lung Cancer as well as Cancer Genetics and DNA Methylation. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Hematology.

Dr. Madhuri Kakarala, MD, PhD
Dr. Kakarala earned her medical degree, as well as her PhD in nutrition, from Michigan State University in Lansing, MI. She fulfilled her fellowship at the Hematology/Oncology divisions of Michigan State University and the University of Michigan. Dr. Kakarala is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, is a Registered Dietitian, and is Oncology/Hematology Board Eligible. She holds memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Dietetic Association, and the American Association for Cancer Research. Dr. Kakarala conducts NIH and Komen Foundation funded research in cancer prevention and serves on the ASCO Cancer Prevention Committee.

Dr. Latha Polavaram, MD
After earning her medical degree from Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati, India, Dr. Polavaram completed her residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, MI. She then participated in a Bone Marrow Transplant Fellowship and completed her Hematology/Oncology Fellowship, both at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Dr. Polavaram is Board Certified in Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Geriatrics.
