Central Venous Catheters
If you have a central venous catheter (i.e. Port-a-cath, Hickman catheter or a PICC line) and wish to have your blood tests drawn from this catheter, please make arrangements with your nurse ahead of time. This typically means scheduling an appointment with him/her prior to your visit with the physician. If you are seeing a nurse for treatment, this blood draw can often be incorporated into that visit.
Latex Allergy
If you have a latex allergy, please inform the lab personnel upon arrival so latex-free gloves and tourniquets can be used.
